Guidelines for Awards to Registered Charities
Who can apply?
We can consider applications from registered charities who:
- Have an annual income of less than £200,000
- Serve the social and/or educational needs of their communities
- Are able to make a real impact in improving the lives of local people.
What can we fund?
- Specific projects or activities are preferred, rather than general running costs
- Grants do not normally exceed £1,000. Applicants need to show how a grant of this
size will help make a clear and significant contribution to their project or activity
Exclusions
- Charities that have received a grant in the last five years
- Building or redevelopment work
- Projects which take place within hospital, nursing or residential care settings
- Medical research
- Almshouses
- Projects outside the UK.
Further information
Trustees meet twice a year, in July and November. Applications for the July meeting
must be received by the end of May and, for the November meeting, by the end of
September. We regret that only successful applicants will be notified by the Trust.
If you do not hear from us, it means that your application had to be declined.
