1. I am travelling abroad for work experience/gap year. Can I apply
for my travel costs and/or fees ?
Unfortunately not. The Trust does not support projects outside of the UK.
2. There is an important conference I want to attend that will be particularly helpful
for my studies. Can I apply for the conference costs?
The Trust has other priorities for the distribution of its funds
and therefore the Trustees will not consider costs of attendance at
conferences.
3. I want to pursue a part-time course. I have to study part-time because
I need to continue with a part-time job to support my family. Can I apply for a grant ?
Yes, Trustees look favourably on part-time
courses which allow applicants to continue in
part-time employment.
4. I am starting a course in the next academic year. Can I apply a year before to
improve my chances of obtaining grant support?
Applications may only be made from 1st January for grants for
courses starting in the next academic year (normally
September/October) and will be considered as long as
funds allow. Occasionally grants will be approved for courses
starting in the following January.
5.
Can I apply for grant support for a second or
subsequent year if I have already started a course?
Yes,
make application between 1st January and
September/October when the subsequent year begins.
6. My charitable organisation applied and was successful in being awarded a grant for a project.
Can I apply again for another grant for my organisation?
The Trustees have decided that no organisation/charity will receive recurrent funding. However,
after five years any organisation/charity, whether successful or not in applying previously to
the Trust may re-apply.
7. My charity has established a nation-wide appeal for funding, would the Trust be
prepared to make a donation?
No, the application should be for a specific project.
8. My charity is
established in the UK and provides educational/
training opportunities in one or more countries
abroad. Does the Trust consider supporting such
projects?
No, only support for
activities in the UK is provided.
